In 1986 a group of seven families with children of developmental disabilities banded together for the initiation of a support group and to provide emotional support to new parents with the sames challenges they had experienced. From this union, projects and needs within the community were identified for the benefit of their children.

The group wanted to continue the generosity this community has given to this organization by supporting projects Kids With Dreams has initiated. These projects included the support of the MCKIDS program, the purchase of equipment for special needs and the building of a wheelchair accessible playground in Lakeside Park.

Grants from this dynamic fund will be awarded annually with the first presentation to occur in December of 2008. Grant applications will be accepted beginning in July of 2008.

The creation of this fund is one more way the McPherson Healthcare Foundation can continue its mission of building a healthier and safer McPherson County. This mission is only possible through the generosity of dedicated citizens similar to the Kids With Dreams organization.
